Summary of the problem
Do you know that every day, more than 125 people in America are killed with guns? The gun homicide rate in the U.S. is 26 times higher than that of other developed countries. Gun violence in the United States is endless and has increased exponentially in recent years. The government should restrict gun laws to protect the public’s safety and prevent further tragedies because the United States now has the highest gun rate, and it always threatens our public’s safety.
The video shows the governor in New Jersey has signs seven law to combat gun violence which means that every state is slowly combats the gun violence.
Firearm ownership and access is associated with increased suicide, homicide, unintentional firearm deaths, and injuries.
Firearms accounted for nearly a third of all deaths among 15- to 17-year-olds
Firearms: the leading cause of years of potential life lost
“The SAS has estimates that the U.S. has 120.5 firearms per 100 residents (Salenetri, Mia).” The U.S has the highest rate of gun per person worldwide and is the only country with more guns than people. When there are more guns, the potential for misuse accidents and violent incidents increases. On average almost every resident has a gun which means that everyone has the right to use a gun to do bad things like murder or robbery.
It is too easy for people to buy guns in America, they only have to fill out a little form without a background check, what if a person has a criminal record before and comes to buy a gun. We don't know what bad things these people will do with guns. Since buying guns in the U.S. is too easy, some people will catch the point and use guns to do bad things.
California’s law for gun control is a very good example that the United States government could require for the whole country. California has some of the strictest gun laws in the U.S. For example, as many shootings are committed by teenagers. California designed to make it harder for teenager to access firearms. There are storage laws that require guns to be stored securely which helps to prevent teens from getting their hands in them at home.
The government should restrict gun laws to protect the public’s safety and prevent further tragedies because the United States now has the highest gun rate, and it always threatens our public’s safety.
