Should kids under 13 have access to unsupervised Internet. In my Opinion I believe that kids shouldn’t due to the danger of the whole internet and all that lurks on the web. A lot of kids are allowed to access the internet without supervision which is a bad problem, without monitoring, kids could find something inappropriate. In 2019 a kid was on Youtube watching videos and then out of nowhere a video started playing by a hacker and it was telling him to do things to his parents and he almost followed through with it until one day his mom heard the noise and decided to check it out and from there she found out and decided to call the cops and the hacker/man was eventually caught and is now serving multiple years
Find a YouTube Video that describes the problem.
The video basically told us how to be safe from the internet, if you get invited to events or to places by a complete stranger and you plan to go, that you should not because it could be a whole set up to kidnap you or even worse. Making friends on the internet could be dangerous too because you really don't know who is behind the screen, could be someone the same age as you, older than you looking to hurt or get stuff from you.
Find 3 pictures that convey the problem you are discussing in your paper. Describe the picture and what it shows below each picture.
Hackers are always lurking on the internet, wrong one click and a hacker could have access to all your information within a second.
People are always getting bullied or hated on through the internet which really brings the other person down and sometimes it could lead to them unaliving themeselves due to it.
Pedophiles are always on the internet, especially on children games trying to find their next victim. That is why it's always important to monitor who your child is talking to.
Discuss 3 topics that you included in your research paper.
The danger of unsupervised internet access is going on to a wrong website, a wrong video or just something else that you or your child should not be looking at. someone made a huge mistake last week allowing rheir children to click onto the next video in YouTube after they watched a classic cartoon for their weekly movie night. Their eight-year-old son came running out three minutes after asking permission to watch what his kids thought was another clip from the same series, telling him his kids had stopped the video after it “showed some stuff for grownups
How has internet Access gotten worse?
Internet access has gotten worse, especially on games as well with the super popular game called “Roblox” a kid was playing with his sister when suddenly the game turned all dark and a few moments later it showed people getting unalived and it happened all over the uUnited Sstates even the news was talking about it, it also happens with toys, . just recently a wicked toy showed the wrong QR code and link and it took them to an adult website which then the toy was recalled and then I'm pretty sure sued as well.
Older children and teenagers will inevitably have more privacy, but parents should still convey clear expectations about appropriate behavior through frequent conversations and regular monitoring of their online activities, Another strategy for dealing with internet access with children is … Limiting the screen time, turning off the internet, putting blockers on your kids electronics or an app that tracks your kids activity.
Give your personal opinion on your topic.
In my opinion, every parent should monitor their children's screentime even if they are a teen because who knows what could be happening in their lives. Internet usage should be limited to kids as well due to the fact that it gets really addictive especially to younger people so thats why you should take their devices away from them for a while. Have them be with you outside, join a sport, or even just help around the houses so their mind doesn't get destroyed and all they want to do is just be stuck on the internet all day.
Write down 3 questions you will ask the class at the end of your presentation.
1: Why do you feel like internet usage should be limited?
2: Should everything be monitored by parents?
3: If the internet was only available to people older than the age of 16, do you think the world would be different today?
