“Nearly half of U.S. teens ages 13 to 17 (46%) report ever experiencing at least one of six cyberbullying behaviors asked about in a Pew Research Center survey conducted April 14-May 4, 2022 (Teens and Cyberbullying).” There should be an age limit because of teens bullying other teens and social media is affecting people's mental health negatively. Some people might say that social media helps their kids with anxiety, entertains them, and also educates them. However, social media poses a lot of problems in teens mental health and social media applications should set up an age limit for their users.
A girl gets bullied because of a post but at the end that changed and they said sorry and became friends with her.
Someone is exposed to things they aren't ready for.
Someone is using their phone while driving and not paying attention to the road.
This guy is bed rotting while playing his game.
Children under 13 don't yet have the hardware upstairs to make smart decisions online.
The web is perpetual and will create a vice grip on your child, distracting them from schoolwork and paying attention in class.
Children who are always on the Internet may not find time to go outside anymore or may become lazy and unable to care for themselves.
I believe that there should be an age limit to have access to social media. I think sights should have restrictions or show certain things to different ages. I think this because some people aren't ready to see things they aren't ready to see.
1. Is there a game you're addicted to?
2 Are you distracted by social media?
3 Have you seen things you weren't ready to see?
