Textbooks

Teachers are to maintain accurate records (i.e. – student names, book numbers, condition of book) of all textbooks loaned to students.

Financial obligations for lost or stolen textbooks should be issued prior to the end of each semester. You will also need to input the information into the financial obligation spreadsheet that will be sent by the financial secretary toward the end of each semester. Contact Jonathan Lamb or your department chair for a textbook pricing guide.

Copy Machine

Each dept. chair will be given 2 cases of copy paper (10,000 sheets=10,000 copies) twice a year to be used when making school related copies. The paper will be provided when returning back from summer and then again at the beginning of 2nd semester. The Toshiba copier is to be used only when making single copies. Your 5-digit employee ID is your copier code. See Ms. Benson to get it set up.

The Riso copiers will not have a code for you to use to make copies The Riso copier must be used for the majority of your copies. It is imperative that you plan ahead so that the bulk of your copying can be done on the Riso. If for some reason you run out of copies on the Toshiba copier, you must see your department chairperson for help. No extra copies will be put on the Toshiba copiers before the end of each quarter.

To help with making your copies stretch, we have provided these helpful hints:

How to Copy Smarter… Not Harder!

    • Use class sets- Students can answer questions on notebook paper. Don’t let them write on handouts, tests, quizzes, etc… unless absolutely necessary.

    • Post information on wiki.

    • Use the projector- Charts and tables are easy to transfer onto white paper. Students can copy math problems, essay questions, and diagrams all by themselves.

    • Shrink, Shrink, and then Shrink again! And just when you think it’s too small, shrink again!

    • Leave no Margins behind!

    • Use both sides of the paper- If everyone did this, we could cut our paper costs in half! More money for other things!

    • No more “Mailbox Flyers” It takes 120 copies to put 1 piece of paper in each teacher’s box, and most of those go straight to the recycling bin! Send an email attachment for teachers to print at their discretion. Include your information in the weekly bulletin. There are lots of ways to share information that do not require large numbers of copies.

    • Easy on the graphics! Images use a large amount of ink…. It’s expensive too!

    • Visit Classroom Central each month! Carpool with other teachers! It’s fun! There are lots of great things you can pick up for FREE including reams of copy paper.

Classroom Printer Cartridges

Since we have now gone to networked copiers, all printing should be sent to the copier. If you are using a printer in your classroom, please be advised that the school may not have a replacement cartridge once the one you have runs out.

Supplies

Each department chairperson will be given a budget to order instructional and art supplies (scotch tape, paper clips, pens, pencils, etc.) for staff within their department to use. Supplies needed must be requested from your department chairperson. They are responsible for submitting a Request to Purchase for items needed by you and purchased with money allotted by the school principal.

Athletic Facilities/Fields

Request to use athletic facilities and fields outside of the instructional day should be made through the Athletic Director, Steve Robinson.

School Keys

Members of the faculty may make requests for keys to Jonathan Lamb. No school keys should ever be loaned to a student. The loss of a school key should be reported to Mr. Lamb immediately. Please be advised that losing keys can result in a fine.

Lockers

This year we will not be using school lockers.
