Role & Responsibilities of Department Chairperson
Develop (along with members of the department) long-range plans and goals for their department based on data, SMART Goals and SIP.
Work collaboratively with Instructional Leadership Team.
Act as the liaison between their department and administration.
Coordinate the inventory, distribution and collection of textbooks.
Compile and coordinate the department’s budget and the ordering of materials and supplies.
Encourage department members to follow through on daily administrative responsibilities and duties.
Participate in interviews for new hires.
Support professional development for staff through orientation, mentoring, observing and coaching.
Conduct department meetings.
