Taylor Swift performs "Who's Afraid of Little Old Me?" (or "The Yellow Wallpaper" lol) at the Eras Tour
Stories are all around us in every medium. Text is not the ONLY form of narrative. In this unit, we will be examining multi-media narrative forms and considering how they convey their stories via visuals, interactive experiences, audio, movement, etc.
Visit the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art and read the article/view the art pieces. Choose a line or two that best exemplifies the article's perspective to record in a journal page.
Choose one of the art pieces to explore further. On your journal page, answer the following questions in a paragraph:
Describe the image in detail. Why did you choose it? Is it the visual composition or the story that most draws you? What story is it telling? Do a little research on the artist/piece/connections. What do you learn about the story by looking a little deeper?
You may include visuals/SketchNotes/color, etc if you like. Be sure to include the title of the piece & artist's name.

We will explore various story forms in class together on Mon/Tues and then you will also choose a narrative form to explore independently or in a small group. You will have the 2 weeks prior to Winter Break to research your choice and create a project to share your discoveries with us. Your project/presentation can take any form- visual art, tech, writing, storyboarding, installation, podcast... You may want to use the Thanksgiving days off to do some binge-watching, podcast listening, internet rabbit holing, museum visiting, etc to prepare for your in class project work.
You may form small groups to work together if you share a common interest, but I expect a group project/presentation to reflect each individual's contribution clearly. You will each still be creating work independently, but you can combine these into "super projects" in order to work collaboratively.
