There are times when the information that you share cannot be kept confidential as we have a Duty of Care to students and families. Times when students present as ‘at risk’ to harming themselves, someone is harming them or they are ‘at risk’ of harming someone else a Wellbeing Team Counsellor would need to talk to a responsible adult. The Wellbeing Team Counsellor would, where possible, have a conversation with the student and family as to who this may be and what the conversation may sound like.
