Words from the Headmaster's Desk
In a recent article by Bonny Fourie, a multimedia journalist for IOL Property, highlighted South Africa's top 10 small towns for semigrants and second-home buyers, listing Franschhoek as number 1, followed by Nottingham Road, St Francis Bay, and Langebaan.
Bonny continues to say that Nottingham Road, ranked second, is renowned for prestigious schools and its proximity to the Drakensberg and Midlands Meander -Â just 1.5 hours from Durban and 4.5 hours from Johannesburg. Quoting Peter and Kari Green, she describes it as a sought-after weekend retreat and second-home haven.
Reflecting on this term and reading this article, I feel an incredible amount of pride in our unique school, Clifton. All the events from this term reflect our philosophy, emphasising children's happiness and contentment with who they are and where they are. As children grow older, parents prioritise the holistic benefits of schooling, making institutionalised schools the preference over homeschooling environments. I firmly believe that Clifton is making remarkable strides in the right direction by offering children an unparalleled experience that cannot be replicated anywhere else in the world. My suspicion is that this may be the very reason Nottingham Road is finding itself near the top of the semigration list.
