As we close another incredible school year, we are reminded just how connected our Kloefkorn circles truly are. From classrooms and concerts to celebrations and everyday moments of growth, this year has been filled with learning, laughter, and community.
Thank you, Cub Families, for the many ways you support our school. Your involvement, encouragement, and partnership make a lasting impact on our students and strengthen the circle around every child.
On behalf of the entire Kloefkorn staff, thank you as well for the generosity and kindness shown during Staff Appreciation Week. Your thoughtful notes, treats, and support made our team feel incredibly valued and reminded us what a special community we are fortunate to be part of.
A heartfelt shout-out goes to our outstanding PTO! Your dedication, creativity, and countless hours of support help create meaningful experiences and joyful memories for our Cubs all year long.
This year truly reflected our theme, Connected in Every Circle. Together, we built strong relationships, celebrated growth, and created a school community where everyone belongs.
We are so proud of our Cubs and grateful to share this journey with you. Wishing your family a summer filled with rest, adventure, and time together! ☀️

🐻 Kloefkornucopia – May 20 at 2:15 PM
One of our most special traditions is just around the corner! Kloefkornucopia honors our school’s namesake, Nebraska State Poet Bill Kloefkorn, with a joyful neighborhood parade.
This year, we are excited to welcome back our graduating seniors as honored guests—a true full-circle celebration!
Families are invited to line the parade route (Glass Ridge to Oakville to Meursault to Glass Ridge), bring a lawn chair, and cheer on our Cubs. Students are encouraged to wear plaid (a Mr. Kloefkorn favorite) or school colors. Streets will begin closing around 1:45 PM, with the parade starting shortly after.
🎒 Report Cards- May 21st
Watch for report cards to come home on the last day of school.

Do you have a child - or do you know of a child - that will start kindergarten next year? Lincoln Public Schools is now accepting kindergarten registrations for the 2026-2027 school year.
Parents of children turning five years of age on or before July 31, 2026 can go to lps.org and click on the red “Enroll Your Student” button. Here you will also find all the information necessary for registering, the required documents needed and answers to frequently asked questions.
For children who turn five between August 1 and October 15, parents may request an assessment for their child to receive a waiver to attend school early. That information is also located on the kindergarten registration page.
Parents who do not have access to the online registration, or wish to register their child in person, should contact their attendance area elementary school as soon as possible. Questions about kindergarten registration should also be directed to the child's attendance area school.
For more information about kindergarten registration and assessment testing for incoming students, please go to: https://home.lps.org/studentservices/kindergarten-registration-assessment/.
We began taking preschool applications for 2026-27 on January 2, 2026. Children who will be three as of July 31, 2026 and not yet five, and reside within the Lincoln Public Schools boundaries are eligible to be considered for preschool. Information about the preschool application process is available on our website at https://home.lps.org/earlychildhood/preschool-application/.
Once again, our lost and found area is overflowing! At the end of the year, we'll donate all unclaimed items to a local charity.
Do we have the most current contact information for you? It's important your child's school has a working phone number, email address and mailing address so we can contact you in the event of an emergency and share important back to school information over the summer. If any of your contact information has changed, please contact your child's school office to update it as soon as possi
We understand that our four-legged friends are an important part of families. However, for the safety of all, we remind you that pets and personal companions are not allowed on school grounds when students are present. Even though your pet might act appropriately around children, there may be other pets that are no okay when around animals. Page 45 of the Important Information Booklet states:
"For the safety and well-being of students, parents, community members and staff, pets/personal companion animals are not allowed to be brought on school grounds when students are present except in accordance with this regulation [3972.1]. Having your pet in the car with you when you pick up your child is acceptable."
If you are walking, please keep your animal on a leash in accordance with city ordinances and stand across the street and off school property. Thank you for your assistance!

Hello, Cub Families!
As we wrap up another wonderful school year, I want to take a moment to say thank you. It has been an absolute pleasure taking care of our Cubs again this year. Keeping your children healthy, safe, and ready to learn is the best part of my job, and I appreciate the trust you place in me every day.
While I hope everyone is looking forward to some well-deserved rest, the summer is a great time to get a head start on next year’s health requirements. To ensure a smooth transition back to school in August, please keep the following in mind:
If your child is due for a physical, vision exam, or dental visit, you don’t have to wait until August to turn in that paperwork!
Email Anytime: As you complete these appointments over the summer, feel free to scan and email the documents to me right away so they don’t get lost in the back-to-school shuffle. I will be checking my email periodically throughout the break.
Front Office Drop-off: You can also drop off hard copies at the front office. I’ll be swinging by school throughout the summer to collect them.
Check Those Backpacks: If your student keeps medication at school or has a health condition requiring a Yearly Action Plan (such as asthma, allergies, seizures or diabetes), please check their backpacks for the necessary renewal forms for the 2026-2027 school year.
Keep Me Posted: If your child develops a new health condition or has a change in their medical needs over the summer, please reach out via email. Staying informed helps me prepare a safe environment for your student's return.
I hope you all have a relaxing, safe, and healthy summer! Enjoy the sunshine, stay hydrated, and I can't wait to see all of those smiling faces back in the halls this August!
Warmly,
Kelsey Jaacks, RN, BSN
School Nurse

On May 27, 2026, the district will switch the student information system to the Summer School term. This means up to May 27, 2026, you can review final grades in the ParentVUE Report Card tab. After that date, you can assess final grade information from the Documents tab or Course History tab.
Email ptoKloefkorn@gmail.com if you have any questions, or visit our website www.kloefkornpto.ptboard.com/home for more information regarding what the PTO is up to.
Yearbooks are here! They were sent home in your child’s backpack today, Friday, May 15th, for those that ordered. Thank you to all those that submitted covers for the 5th grade cover contest. This year’s winner is Towson Bartels in Ms. Savidge’s class. We had so many incredible submissions this year, all of which are featured inside the yearbook.
Thanks for all who came out! It was so much fun to see the colors
Thank you all for showing your support and appreciation to our staff and teachers.
We are looking for volunteers to help lead or co-lead our PTO committees. Please let us know if you are interested in volunteering for any committees for next school year at ptokloefkorn@gmail.com. Any help is appreciated, large or small.
Cub Clubs (work with teachers/staff to plan/hold Clubs quarterly during the school year)
When you join PTO, you make a difference in your child's education! Make sure to join PTO for the 2025-2026 school year. Dues are only $15 and help us meet the needs of all our students! The student directory is also available online for paid members.
Sign up at kloefkornpto.ptboard.com.
The student directory is managed by our PTO as a service to our families. We only provide the student directory to paid PTO members. You can do this on the Forms & Payments page of our website and then find the PTO Membership Form on the left hand menu. Membership is for the current school year and costs $15 per family annually. (Note: our website will roll over to the next school year in July and the directory will not be available after that time.)
The $15 annual membership fee helps support various school programs and staff appreciation efforts. The directory is kept behind a membership to protect the privacy and contact information of our families, and it provides digital access (email and phone) which can help families avoid the costs of physical mail.
Most importantly, please know that we never want a financial barrier to prevent a family from participating in our school community. If the membership fee is a hardship for your family, we have a process in place to accommodate those who need assistance. Please feel free to respond directly to this email, and we will ensure you have the access you need.
Once membership dues have been paid, you will have access to the directory. The directory can be found using the left hand menu of our website, and click on the 'Student Directory' tab. The directory is uploaded each year in the fall, and new students are not necessarily added to the directory, unless their parent/guardian adds them directly.
