Transition from home to ELC
Transition from home to ELC
Letter with start date, key worker and home visit time sent to family.
Home visits arranged to support getting to know the new children. Key Worker and Senior arrive to complete paperwork, and Key Worker brings toys to start building relationships with your child.
Visits to the ELC after school and during sessions.
Invited to a Book Bug session in the ELC.

Opportunities to visit the Yellow Wing during term 4.
'Come dine with me' taster school lunches during late term 4.
In January, the school contacts other ELC establishments to get to know children coming to P1 in August. This can include extra visits / TAC meetings / visits to the ELC.

Staff have detailed meetings with the new teacher to ensure all relevant information is shared.
Planning documents and paperwork shared with new class teacher/s.
Teachers during planning days, spent time with DHT and SfL to discuss specific information relating to attainment and supports in place for pupils.
Pupils take part in a Meet the Teacher session in June, meeting their new class teacher/s and completing a task.
Enhanced meetings with identified pupils and new class teacher/s.

Our Primary 7 children generally make the transition to our catchment secondary school Alloa Academy.
