An important part of our work on health and wellbeing is physical education. At Redwell we benefit from two specialist PE teachers. Each class has two 45 minute and one 30 minute PE lesson each week. As part of PE, our classes enjoy many different activities such as basketball, football, hockey and gymnastics. We also have the advantage of lots of outdoor space which means children participate in a range of outdoor activities such as orienteering and cross country running.

We follow the Relationships, Sexual Health and Parenthood programme. This is a national resource which follows Curriculum for Excellence guidance and is structured for Early, First and Second level. The programme covers a range of topics including families and friendships, looking after living things, our bodies, relationships, hygiene and being safe.
