I tested it by plugging it after long days of putting together the wooden parts and circuit of the lamp. My lamp is pretty stable with a basket that holds the parts of the lamp together. I got feedback on what I should do to improve, but other than that it was pretty decent. I used online resources such as reference photos and websites to get materials. However, I wasn’t able to get all of the materials from these websites. But, I was able to use the photos for my lamp design presentation. These online sources inspired me by helping me with the aesthetic and the materials such as things to create the frame and shape. Overall, it made my design stand out from the other’s in terms of shape and look. First, it took me about 2 months to finish Criterion A, B, and C. Then, it took me another month to make the lamp. And finally, it took me 2 weeks to finish all of the reflections. So in total, this project took me over 3 months to complete. There were 4 challenges, they were finding the wire, making the wire’s plug, getting the materials, and assembling it together.
I can improve my design by painting it to add more color for the aesthetic. Either that or I can add more light bulbs to let them shine in certain parts of the lamp.
It can give a large impact to white collar workers and decorators by helping with the aesthetic of their workplace. Its design also hasn’t been done like this before and is very cheap. My design is also supposed to help workers to give their desk an underground or underwater cave aesthetic.
