I tested my final lamp design by turning it on / off and holding the stick part. I turned my lamp on and off because I had to test out if the lights work. Since the lamp didn’t have a switch, I had to plug and unplug the wires so that the lightbulb would be off and on. I tested the stability of the lamp by holding the stick part without holding the bottom. My lamp was stable so it passed the test. The materials I used were bamboo sticks, a wood brick, a basket, and a lightbulb. I got feedback from one of my friends and they said that it would be better if I painted the basket. Because of the feedback, I decided to paint the basket red, green, and yellow.
The resources I used to make my lamp design were pinterest, google, and a website about circuits. My first design was inspired by a pinterest photo of a flower house lamp. I was going to do this, but I decided not to do this lamp because it was too hard to make, and I couldn’t twist the bamboo part that would connect to the “Flower.” Because of this, Mr Saclo gave a suggestion on how I could make the parts straight so it's like an incomplete square. I also used google to search up different designs for inspo on what other designs I could do.
I got a lot of inspiration from online sources because it had a lot of good designs. I got most of the designs from pinterest and google because it was the most easy to access source. One of the designs I found and was going to do was the flower pot house lamp. I found this design interesting because it had a very unique concept. This is because it looked like a small elf’s house or mini person’s house.
I’m not sure how much time I spent on creating my lamp designs, since I didn’t keep track of the amount of days or weeks. However, I think that it took at least a month to do everything since quarter 3 was about a month long. I spent a lot of effort creating my lamp designs and the criterias.
I had a lot of steps on making my lamp design. First, I had to start drawing about 10 designs so that I could choose 3. Then, I started doing criteria A which had a lot of writing. Next, I had to start writing criteria B formative as well. Afterwards, I started making my prototype for the lamp that I wanted to make. Then, I started making my lamp. Next, I made my presentation even though I couldn’t present. Lastly, I finished criteria C&D.
