Question assignments are just as they sound... posing a question to your students in Google Classroom. Students have the option of answering a multiple choice question or writing a paragraph answer. Question assignments can be used for a number of things. If you want a quick class poll to determine the class preference for a field trip, or what movie they would like to watch for a class reward, you can add a multiple choice question and display the results to the class. To begin your lesson, you can also post a question, prior to your introduction, and get the class conversation started. Question assignments can be a great way to communicate with your students and allow you to gain insights from ALL students in your classroom.

Material assignments are used to add information to your Google Classroom that does not require a grade. A course syllabus, explanation video, and study guides are perfect examples of material assignments. Posting these in Google Classroom will ensure that they are always available and not lost on the floor of another classroom, ruined in the bottom of a backpack, or left at home when needed for classroom instruction.
