Introduction to Theater I
This course will give potential actors instruction and practice in basic techniques of stage presence. Class consists of exercises in dramatic reading, body movement, sensory awareness and concentration, improvisation, voice control and projection, character analysis and scene study. Written work will be required. Each student will participate in individual and group performances. Lines will be memorized. Attendance at one live performance of a stage play is required. Strong independent reading skills required.

Introduction to Theater II
This course builds on the skills learned in Intro to Theater I and expands to include oral exercises in dramatic reading, voice control and projection, character analysis, and written analysis for scene and script study. Each student will participate in individual and group preferences.

Theater Arts Residency 1
Theater Arts Residency I focuses on deeper analysis of dramatic performance and honing the skills initially learned in Introduction to Theater I/II. Students will improve their acting skill through improvisation, storytelling, and creative dramatics. Students will perform monologues, dialogues, scenes, and oral interpretations.

Theater Arts Residency 2
Theater Arts Residency II focuses on deeper analysis of dramatic performance and honing the skills initially learned in Introduction to Theater I/II.
