Business Foundations

This course provides students with effective strategies in money management, as well as understanding the nature and importance of business on a personal, social, and rational level. The following topics are covered: marketing, banking, consumer credit, insurance, savings and investments, major purchases, and consumer trends and issues. Content is based on the Ohio Department of Education standards for Business Foundations.

This course is designed to provide students with a background in opening and managing a small business. Introduction to Health Sciences

This introductory course provides students an overview of the opportunities available in the healthcare industry. Students will learn basic human anatomy and skills related to careers in healthcare. Students learn how to properly remove gloves, perform CPR, and provide care for choking.

Introduction to Audio Production

Introduction to Audio Production is a precursor to the Career & Technical Programs of Audio Engineering 1 & 2. Concepts of music theory, composition, digital audio, music technology, and recording techniques will be explored. Skills such as audio and MIDI editing, basic music composition, beat production, audio recording, and audio post-production are learned through a series of project-based learning opportunities. You will use professional-quality equipment including MIDI keyboards, microphones, audio interfaces, etc. Students will use basic audio mixing skills to create a unique soundstage for their projects.

Introduction to TV Production

In this course, students will learn the basics in TV production. Students will gain experience in basic camera operation, basic on-camera skills (i.e. voice, diction, movement, cues, etc.), digital video-editing, script preparation and production, basic graphics, lighting and audio. Projects include critiquing news broadcasts and commercials, composing a script for production, filming an interview, and conducting an interview.
