Maths Elective

MATHS EXTENSION

This semester-long elective will draw on content from beyond the mainstream course such as programming and big data. Students will also be introduced to topics encountered for the first time in VCE Specialist Maths including vectors, complex numbers and proof. Through applying problem solving, reasoning, mathematical modelling and digital tools, students will explore real-world contexts and solve ‘messy’ problems.

This subject is recommended for: students eager to pursue their interest and curiosity for Mathematics, and for students considering studying Specialist Mathematics in VCE.
