[South Jersey] Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Epsilon Zeta Sigma Alumnae Chapter Scholarships - DEADLINE 6/1/24
$1,922, $1,000, and $750 scholarships available to South Jersey students!
For students accepted into an accredited 2-year or 4-year college or university, with minimum "B" average grades and demonstrated community service!
Application includes transcript, essay, two letters of reference, and ACT/SAT scores.
It is the mission of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. (founded 1922) to enhance the quality of life for women and their families in the U.S. and globally through community service, civil, and social action. The Epsilon Zeta Sigma Chapter provides scholarship aid to students, regardless of race or sex, in pursuit of higher education.

[Camden County] NAACP Paul C. Harris, Sr. Memorial Scholarship - DEADLINE 6/1/24
LOCAL scholarship from the Camden County East Branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP)! For two students who exhibit leadership and service in their school and community, and will be attending an accredited college or university in the fall!
FIRST PLACE: $1,200
SECOND PLACE: $800
Eligibility Criteria:
Graduating senior of a high school in Camden County
Two letters of recommendation
Minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale (transcript required)
300-500 word essay (Describe any efforts or accomplishments that demonstrate your support of NAACP goals, by commitment to civil rights advocacy and/or community service)

[National] Smith Publicity Book Marketing Scholarship - DEADLINE 5/15/24
$2,500 scholarship for high school seniors or undergraduate students in the United States, with an interest in publishing, English, journalism, communications, and related fields. However, the scholarship is open to students with any subject interest, as well!
Application includes writing a persuasive essay in response to a prompt.
Smith Publicity is a book promotion and marketing firm for authors in Cherry Hill, NJ. They offer an annual book marketing scholarship as a way to connect with growing leaders in their industry, many of which may be seniors at Cherry Hill East!

[Cherry Hill East] The Daniel Jack Melleby Memorial Scholarship - DEADLINE 5/15/24
***A Local Scholarship for ONE CHERRY HILL EAST STUDENT-ATHLETE, valued at $3,000***
This scholarship is for a graduating student-athlete who has demonstrated courage, dedication, leadership, unselfishness, and Cougar pride, in memory of Dan Melleby, East Class of 2011.
Applicants will complete a one-page essay in response to the following topic:
While playing football and basketball for 4 years at Cherry Hill East, Dan Melleby demonstrated courage, dedication, leadership, unselfishness, and Cougar pride. In one page, please describe how you exemplified these same qualities as an East student-athlete.

[New Jersey] The Donald and Itasker Thornton Memorial Scholarship - DEADLINE 5/7/24
This is a one-year educational scholarship for deserving young females of color in New Jersey!
This includes female seniors in New Jersey who are African-American/Black, Hispanic/Latino-American, Caribbean-American, Native American, Asian-American, etc. and planning to enter a 4-year accredited college or university!
Requirements include transcript (C+ GPA or better), three (3) letters of recommendation, income statement, essay, and photo.
Important Note: If you're selected as a finalist, a personal interview with the board of trustees will be required to earn an award.

[New Jersey] Rizzieri Aveda School Scholarships - DEADLINE 5/1/24
Rizzieri Aveda School provides education in Cosmetology and Skin Care, as well as courses including barbering, makeup, manicures, and lash extensions.

[New Jersey] NJ Hall of Fame Areté Scholarship Fund - DEADLINE 5/1/24
A $5,000 scholarship is awarded to one deserving male and one deserving female graduating from a NJ high school. Each recipient will receive a $5,000 scholarship from the NJ Hall of Fame (NJHOF), to support them in pursuit of their dreams!
The concept of Areté inspires individuals to pursue goodness and excellence and be the best version of themselves possible.
Successful applicants should demonstrate a sense of Jersey pride and that willingness to go above and beyond the call of duty. They don't necessarily have to be at the very top of their class academically, but should demonstrate a focus in school and life, and have a well thought-out plan on how they intend to realize their highest sense of self: their Areté.

[Philadelphia Area] Wilt Chamberlain Memorial Fund - DEADLINE 4/22/24
A LOCAL scholarship for seniors with financial need who plan to attend a four-year university or two-year associate program or trade school. For deserving students in the Greater Philadelphia area!
Up to $5,000 per year to attend a four-year school, and up to $2,500 per year to attend a community college or vocational school! Scholarship also includes mentoring support during and after the transition to post-high school schooling.
Minimum requirements include having a cumulative unweighted GPA of 2.5 or above, and financial need.

[Cherry Hill East] Helen Hu Humanitarian Scholarship - DEADLINE 4/19/24
These special scholarships are JUST FOR EAST SENIORS! At least two (maybe more) scholarships at $1,000 each!
The Helen Hu Humanitarian Scholarships are awarded to East seniors in honor of Helen Hu's 32 years at Cherry Hill High School East - as a teacher, advisor, and role model of excellence, honor, and service. She encourages others to blossom and fulfill their maximum potentials.
The criteria for these scholarships include:
dedication to excellence and desire to be a lifelong learner
participation in school activities and/or community/faith organizations

[Camden County] Camden County Hero Scholarship Fund - DEADLINE 4/15/24
Four (4) Scholarship Opportunities!!
1.) $2,000 (3 available) - Public Safety Scholarships
Scholarships for graduating seniors who have a parent actively serving Camden County (or they themselves are actively serving) in a branch of:
police/law enforcement
fire service (paid and volunteer), or
emergency medical service (EMS).
One scholarship is awarded for each branch of service!
2.) $1,500 - Chief Gary R. Cline Memorial Scholarship
Scholarship for a graduating senior pursuing a career in law enforcement.
3.) $1,500 - Chief Gene Dannenfelser Memorial Scholarship
Scholarship for a graduating senior pursuing a career in a fire service-related field.
4.) $1,000 - Corporal Christopher Milito Scholarship
Scholarship for a graduating senior who is the child of a Law Enforcement Officer.

[Philly Region] Dunkin' Donuts Philadelphia Regional Scholarship Program - DEADLINE 4/15/24
Up to TWENTY (20) $5,000 LOCAL scholarships available to qualified students!
Applicants must be planning to enroll this fall (part- or full-time) in undergraduate study at an accredited 2-year or 4-year college, university, or vocational-technical school! Dunkin’ full-time/part-time employees who meet the eligibility criteria are also encouraged to apply!

$500 scholarship for one East senior who plans to major in science at college/university to become a science teacher.
Selection is based upon:
transcript of academic record, in general, and science courses, in particular

science teacher recommendation
essay that identifies and explains your commitment to pursue a career in teaching science
The Future Science Teacher Awards has honored the accomplishments of graduating seniors planning to become science teachers since 2006.

[New Jersey] The NJ Electronic Life Safety Association (NJELSA) Scholarship - DEADLINE 4/12/24
This scholarship is for high school seniors who are the children of active-duty police and fire personnel.
First Prize: $1,500!
Second Prize: $1,000!
The NJELSA Scholarship is a small way to say thanks to our dedicated public safety community!
Awards are based on academic achievement, national test scores, extracurricular participation, and an essay - “What it means to me to have my parent/guardian involved in securing our community."
Application includes transcript, college acceptance letter, resume, letter of recommendation, proof of parent's occupation, essay, community service form, and optional SAT/ACT scores.
The first prize winner will automatically be entered as a finalist into the Electronic Security Association (ESA) National Scholarship, with a first place prize of $13,000 and second place prize of $3,000!

A $10,000 Scholarship (awarded evenly over 4 years) for one graduating NJ senior, in honor and memory of Janet Logan Daily, a devoted NJ teacher.
This scholarship rewards students from varying academic backgrounds who routinely demonstrate maturity and integrity within and beyond the classroom!
Eligibility Requirements:
Graduating high school senior from NJ enrolling full-time in an accredited university or college within the US

Every year, HSF selects 10,000 outstanding students as HSF Scholars from a broad and talented pool of applicants. They have access to a full range of invaluable services, including career services, mentorship, leadership development, knowledge building, and wellness training.

The Indian Cultural Center (ICC) of Marlton serves the community in social, cultural, and educational areas. Among many programs to support the community, ICC administers multiple scholarship programs to help college-bound students.

One scholarship will be given to a student (US citizen of Indian Origin) and one to a student (US citizen of any origin) meeting these criteria (weighted grading on a 10-point scale):

This scholarship is for our seniors who are young leaders and activists like Pedro, and demonstrate an active commitment to mitigating the impact of the HIV/AIDS epidemic.
ABOUT PEDRO: Pedro Zamora was an HIV/AIDS advocate and educator. When he was 17, he learned he had HIV and dedicated his life to raising awareness and educating his peers on what they needed to avoid infection. In 1994, when he was 22, he was on MTV’s The Real World 3: San Francisco and captivated the nation with his openness, compassion, vitality, and charisma as he spoke openly about his sexuality, status, and activism. His work was tragically cut short in 1994 when he died of an AIDS-related illness, the morning after the final episode of The Real World aired.
