How do I know how much I will get paid for the summer?
The camp director should discuss this with you during your interview. This will also be shown in your staff Letter of Agreement. Please note that the pay shown in your Letter of Agreement reflects your gross pay. This is the total amount earned before any taxes are withheld. Your paycheck stubs will show your gross pay along with your net pay — the amount of your check after all withholdings (the amount of taxes that the government holds back from your income). In many cases when you file your tax return some of that money comes back to you.
Tax withholdings are determined by how you complete your Form W4. Once your W4 is submitted to payroll, we are unable to make adjustments to your tax withholdings. We recommend reviewing the form carefully before submission and consulting with a tax advisor if you have questions about how to best complete it.
Please note: If you work at a day camp, you will be pro-rated for camp days you do not attend.
