Policy is fundamental to achieving and sustaining transformative conservation action at scale. All of our conservation strategies operate within the context of policies, rules and funding allocations that shape, and sometimes constrain what is possible. Policy is Conservation. Yet, policy is often a “miracle” leap in a results chain that struggles to articulate how policy will change. This session will help to demystify the policy change process through sharing insights from the Policy Guidebook (an outcome of the CMP learning initiative on policy impact) and learning about tools and approaches to incorporate policy into the Conservation Standards.
