Join us for an interactive session on crafting Key Attributes and Indicators to assess “target health” - a foundational step to designing effective adaptive conservation plans. This session will overview the process of establishing a baseline understanding of whether the state of biodiversity is changing in response to our conservation actions. Using real-world examples, we’ll highlight common pitfalls to avoid and demonstrate how to design practical indicators and indicator ratings that facilitate meaningful conservation goal setting, even amidst uncertainty and data limitations. Through presentations, case studies, and collaborative exercises, participants will gain essential skills to define, measure, and monitor target health effectively. Whether you’re new to conservation planning or an experienced coach, this session will deepen your understanding and application of this critical (and often misunderstood) component of the Conservation Standards.
