This session will provide an overview of Conservation Standards guidance designed to support practitioners undertaking conservation planning in the face of the uncertainties created by climate change and share coaches’ experiences applying “climate-smart conservation” in the field. It will touch on principles and tools, including seasonal calendars, climate change scenario planning, using socio-ecological drawings to understand the possible impacts of different scenarios, putting information from multiple scenarios into situation models, and climate-smart strategies.
