IDEA Collective was created to proactively address and advance inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessibility (IDEA) within the department by advocating for these values and facilitating a space for meaningful dialogue and positive change.
Given that some employees can experience discomfort sharing their EDI-related feedback with their managers, reaching out to IDEA Collective can be an alternative to ensure employees' issues, improvement ideas and recommendations are being heard, addressed and raised with the Inclusion Team when necessary. We’ve recently begun to work more closely with Amy Sylla on IDEA-related work within the department and have formalized our scope of work.
Advocating for IDEA Initiatives
Act as an advocate for IDEA-related initiatives within the department, promoting the importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of marketing and communications.
Raising Concerns and Providing Feedback
Encourage department members to share their IDEA-related concerns, experiences, and feedback.
Collect and document concerns and feedback from colleagues in a systematic manner.
Continuously gather feedback from department members regarding the effectiveness of IDEA-related initiatives and suggest adjustments when necessary.
Facilitating Communication
Serve as a bridge between department members and the inclusion team, facilitating open and constructive communication on IDEA-related topics.
Organize lunch & learn where employees can discuss IDEA-related projects and knowledge.
Promoting Training and Development
Advocate for training programs related to IDEA topics for department members.
Encourage colleagues to participate in internal development programs.
Promoting Accountability
Encourage accountability among colleagues and leadership for meeting IDEA-related goals and commitments.
Celebrating Successes
Highlight and celebrate department achievements related to IDEA initiatives to reinforce positive behaviour and outcomes.
The purpose of this form is to collect IDEA-related ideas, questions and concerns from employees in the MarComms department. Given that some employees can experience discomfort sharing their IDEA-related feedback with their managers, reaching out to the IDEA Collective can be an alternative to ensure employees' issues, improvement ideas and recommendations are being heard and addressed.
