We interviewed Carol Conway, she was very nice and understanding about us only being in middle school. Carol doesn't live in Carlton but she does know everything that happens in Carlton. She works as a City Clerk for Carlton and Thompson.

Carol Conway is the City Clerk at Carlton City Hall. She does a lot of jobs that, in a bigger town or city, would be divided and given to different people. Carol Conway’s main job title is: The Clerk Treasurer. Her jobs include: mowing grass, the city budget, helping locate graves, human resource tasks, payroll, water billing, zoning and much more. She decided to work at the City Hall because there was an ad in the paper and she applied as an office coordinator. She worked in two positions for a few months. They found someone to fill her old position, so she was able to work full time as the City Clerk. Some of the big changes that have happened since she has been working there are the merger of Carlton and Thompson and the addition of new apartment buildings.

As a child, she was allowed to stay out a long time because it was not as dangerous as it is now. They would be allowed to ride their bikes everywhere and their parents would know where they were. Now in her free time, Carol goes on walks and hikes with her kids and dog. She has two boys. She also volunteers at North Country Ride, a therapeutic riding center for people with disabilities to ride horses.
