Tardiness Policy & Philosophy
Please take school-starting time seriously. Students are expected to be in class, ready to begin the school day when school begins. A parent should call the school when a student is going to be absent or tardy. Students arriving anytime after 7:35 am must stop in the office to sign in and receive a tardy pass before going to class. Students arriving at school more than 10 minutes late for their first class will be marked absent for that class period. Students will be allowed four tardies per semester.
The fourth tardy, and each subsequent tardy, will result in consequences.
Excessive Tardiness Consequences
1st Tardy – Verbal Warning
2nd Tardy – Verbal Warning
3rd Tardy – Verbal Warning
4th Tardy – Lunch Detention
5th Tardy – Lunch Detention
6th Tardy – After School Detention
7th and Subsequent Tardies – After School Detention
10th Tardy – (Parent/Guardian Call - Next Steps, Attendance Plan Meeting)
Excused tardies include a late bus and professional appointments which are accompanied by a Doctor/Dentist verification slip.
