The Rhode Island Student Loan Authority (RISLA) is a non-profit quasi-state authority which has been providing affordable higher education solutions since 1981.
With the Brown Promise, Brown meets 100% of financial need without loans!
Most of RISD financial aid is awarded based on financial aid, but it does give out several merit scholarships each year.
Apply by Dec 1 to be automatically considered for Univ or Rhode Island Merit Scholarships. Also apply to the Honors College.

The Rhode Island legislature has not passed a law extending in-state tuition eligibility to undocumented students, but in 2011 the Board of Governors for Higher Education voted unanimously in favor of in-state tuition access for undocumented students meeting certain residency requirements:
