This is a need-based grant available to Indiana residents who have graduated high school, or who have received their GED, and are planning to attend a participating state college or university. (All Match List schools in IN are participating) Applicants must be planning to enroll as a full-time student in a course of study leading to an associate’s or bachelor’s degree.
Award Amount: The dollar value of the grant varies (see here), and is determined by the number of annual applicants and the availability of state funds.
Requirements:
Must be an Indiana resident by December 31st the year prior to applying for aid (i.e. December 31, 2015 for the 2016-2017 school year)
Must remain a resident throughout academic year
Must be a U.S. Citizen or eligible noncitizen
Must be a high school graduate or hold a GED
Must attend, or plan to attend, an eligible postsecondary institution
Must be enrolled, or plan to enroll, in a course of study leading to an associates or first bachelor's degree, or a certificate at select institutions
Must be a full-time student, or plan to enroll as a full-time student
Must abide by credit completion requirements each academic year to renew maximum award
In some cases, degree-seeking students may use the Frank O'Bannon grant during the summer while enrolled part-time. Refer to the specific guidelines for using the Frank O'Bannon grant during summer terms.
Must file the FAFSA by April 15th prior to the academic year of intended enrollment
This program is for minority students interested in pursuing a degree in a teaching field. Students must be willing to teach in Indiana for at least 3 years post-graduation to accept this award.
Award Amount: up to $4,000 towards the cost of attendance
Requirements:
be a minority student (using state definitions of black or Hispanic)
be an Indiana resident and a U.S. Citizen or eligible noncitizen
be admitted or already attending an eligible Indiana institution as a full-time student
pursue or intend to pursue a course of study that would enable the student, upon graduation, to teach in an accredited school in Indiana
agree in writing to apply for a teaching position at an accredited school in Indiana following that student's certification as a teacher and, if hired, to teach for at least three years
be a full-time student, or plan to enroll as a full-time student
be a first-time undergraduate student
maintain the cumulative grade point average (GPA) required for admission to the institution’s school of education
meet any other minimum criteria established by the Commission
This program is not so much a grant for college, as it is a work study program. Eligible students will be given paid internships with participating local businesses. While students receive hands-on career training, they will be given a salary that can be used to help pay their college tuition. (NOTE: For students CURRENTLY ENROLLED, see below)

Requirements:
Be an Indiana resident
Be enrolled full-time at an eligible Indiana college or university as a dependent or independent student with an Expected Family Contribution (EFC) of no more than $24,808*
Be enrolled part-time at an eligible Indiana college or university as an independent student with an Expected Family Contribution of no more than $1,500*
Not have a bachelor's degree prior to the term in which the student plans to work
*Dependency status and EFC are based on the student’s 2016 – 2017 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
Provides tuition assistance to the dependent children and spouses of disabled/Deceased veterans, and to the children and spouses of National Guard personnel and public safety officers who have been killed in the line of duty. Eligibility for the program is determined by financial need.
Award Amount: The grant pays up to 100% of the cost of tuition, less any other financial aid received, at an approved state college or university.
Requirements:
Must be an Indiana Resident
Must have a biological/adoptive parent or spouse who is a disabled/deceased veteran (see manual for full criteria)
Public institutions agree to charge students no more than 150% of the in-state resident tuition rate for specific programs; private institutions offer a 10% reduction on their tuition rates. You must be enrolling as a non-resident student at a participating MSEP campus to receive the discount. All enrollment decisions are made at the discretion of the receiving campus and the campus may exercise its right to limit participation or set specific admission requirements for MSEP.
