This was our first time using the pen tool in Adobe Illustrator to make custom shapes. Using portrait photos as guides, we made cartoon versions of ourselves! We also printed these out as stickers.
For this project, we created more advanced typography art using clipping masks, type on a path tool, and type modification techniques. I used the typeface Arboria in different settings and sizes to express the significance of Tracy Chapman's words.
For this project, we worked with a new Vermont band called “Griefcase.” They hired our class to make logo designs for their debut album and for t-shirts that they are printing out, so these were some of the designs I submitted. Since their musical influences were 1990’s and 2000’s rock bands, I did some research into the genre and made logos to match the feel of their alternative rock sound! For this project, we learned about typography practices like kerning, tracking, leading, paragraph alignments, justification, and font families to make typography art. For my design, I made text art of "If We Make it Through December" by Merle Haggard/Phoebe Bridges.
For this project, we worked with a Boston-based photographer named Goldetron to help him develop a logo to define his visual identity. He shoots fine art photography including fashion, modeling, and landscapes, so we worked to develop graphics to showcase his style and brand! Check out his photography at https://www.goldetron.com/
This was our first ever graphic design project! For this design, we explored basic shapes in Adobe Illustrator to make a house with a for sign sale.
