Scroll down below to see some selections of my work from this unit.
Over this photography unit my sister has let me take some photos of her. These are by far my favorites photographs of all that I have taken during my studies this unit.
I had to build my own home studio set for these and do my best to replicate professional lighting and backgrounds.
These were some self-portraits I took during a project in which I was encouraged to try portraits on a middle gray background; because I am working from home right now, I had to experiment with different sheets and blankets.
For this project I recreated a movie poster from the movie "Men In Black". I used Photoshop to edit in pictures I shot and created text and layer objects to replicate the original poster.
I also made my own Men in Black poster with a horror theme as an extra challenge in this project to explore visual approaches to different film genres.
These are some favorite photos I've taken with my Nikon camera, some for projects and some in my spare time.
For this project, we utilized some of the blurring tools in Adobe Photoshop to create unique effects that balance blurred looks with crisp photographic looks. I created a Harry Potter theme with mine!
For this project, we took dozens of photos of one subject to explore different angles and perspectives. Using Photoshop, we built collages out of these photographs to show a creative manual art-style approach to show our subject!
For this project, we used long exposures and a flash light to make light paintings. All of these were created in-camera without needing any editing in post.
For this project, we created a cool frame effect on some original photography using masking and selecting to make it look like there was a frame actually interacting with our photograph!
For this project, we used Adobe Photoshop to combine a self-portrait photo of our face with another manipulated element which could have been edited in a creative way. For my double profile, I made an original digital illustration and manipulated it alongside my self-portrait photograph!
For this project, we learned about clipping masks by designing text art with images shining through the letters.
For this project, we painted our own abstract watercolors. From there, we scanned our paintings at high PPI qualities and brought them into Photoshop. Using some layering and masking techniques, we combined original photography with our watercolor to create an interesting hybrid of digital and hand-made art!
For this project, we designed our own collages with dozens of layers that we selected, masked, and arranged using layering in Photoshop. My collage is about the video game Legend of Zelda "Breath of The Wild" and features almost 30 layers!
For this project, we used layering techniques to make this special effect to make it look like we had several clones in the same frame!
This was an extension of our Clones project where we used layering and masking techniques to make ourselves disappear from the frame!
For this project, we created pixel dispersions by using custom Photoshop brush patterns to manipulate masks and layers to create an effect as if we were fading off into the background.
For this project, we explored macro photography by shooting abstract and metaphoric images of textures. Each photo has a unique name to add the atmosphere of it!
For this project, we created a visual photography effect with layering, selecting, and masking to create the illusion of ourselves (or in my case, my sister!) floating in air.
