The Big Show - Event Poster Design
This project was amazing! We designed a poster of an artist/celebrity/band and what a show poster of them would look like. We had to think a lot about hierarchy and harmony while designing it. What would catch a passerby's eye? I present Nelward! Nelward is a music artist who makes amazing songs that have always made me feel happy in weird times. I was also really excited when I posted this online and NELWARD HIMSELF liked it and reposted it.
This project was super fun but also very hard! We were tasked with making a piece in Adobe Illustrator using only triangles. I took mine in a fun axolotl direction because their neck frills sometimes look sharp. Axolotls are also just really interesting creatures as well.
Personal Media Artwork Branding Logos
For this project, we designed logos to represent ourselves and our own professional work as media artists. After brainstorming and creating some logo ideas, we shared these with the class for feedback and finalized our designs with social media banners to advertise the work we will be creating into the future. Look out for this logo more soon!
MHS Prom 2022 Poster Design
As a member of the Prom Committee, I made this design for our 2022 Prom to advertise the event for Juniors and Seniors at Montpelier High School. My original design plays on the "Night of Enchantment" theme!
Spectrums of Light - Color Wheel Design
Showing knowledge of a color wheel is a fairly easy thing to do, but it was so hard to decide on just one idea of how I wanted to execute this. The base of the color wheel always consists of red, yellow and blue, the primary colors. Hence the reason why there are primary colored circles above the person's head. It's very obvious I like rainbows and use them in my art as often as I can, but what better way to use a rainbow than in a color wheel project! The rainbow makes up the hair on the subject above. Lastly, the sparkles in the drawing are really fun and I feel that they show how exciting this project was for me.
Build An Identity - Branding Designs
To practice some of the graphic design and branding work we’ll be doing with clients this year, we started original identity design work by practicing with fake businesses. After learning about these businesses with a creative brief, we worked to design a set of logo concepts, a color scheme, and a demonstration half-page advertisement for them. My business was Discovery Zone, a child care center that wanted graphics to show how they are an exciting educational center for young children.
Design Brief - Montpelier Alive Holiday Graphics
A local company called Montpelier Alive hired our class to make fun holiday cards and an animation for downtown Montpelier's holiday shopping season. Keeping a neutral holiday theme and trying not to lean too much towards Christmas, I created this card in illustrator. Here we have Blipson, Oswald and Old-Pine Jones hanging out.
New Brew - Cappuccino Culture Drink Design
For this project, we designed a coffee can following specific guidelines. The name of the coffee company had to be Cappuccino Culture and the name of the flavor was Vermont Sunrise. On the left are some of the logos I brainstormed and on the right is the one I decided to use. DMA 2 judged our can designs and decided on who had the "best" can. Mine came in fist!
Paula Higa Dance Designs
For this project, we worked with a dance team based out of Burlington, Vermont. Led by Paula Higa, a professor of dance at University of Vermont, they specialize in deeply meaningful and metaphorical dance pieces to communicate through movement. Paula suggested we make designs with the PHD letter-mark and that we could reference Brazil, her native country, in our works. These are some logos and a demonstration social media banner that I submitted to be considered!

Vermont Network and Mosaic Social Change Graphic Designs
This was, by far, my favorite project out of the graphic design unit. Comics are definitely my thing, though they are difficult. I wanted to make something that would convey the message of healthy relationship examples to people of all ages, but especially teens like me. And what better way to make a relationship comic than to have relatable characters and different gender identities. I am a strong advocate for more representation of cultures and lgbtq+ characters (and couples) in media, especially cartoons and other teen/young adult media. Overall, I think this comic is something to be proud of and maybe I'll make a small impact with it.
For this project, we designed our own magazine covers with original photography and graphics that were exact replications of the original magazine layout and styles. Using a copy of the magazine as our guide, we measured the layout specifications and created our own design with InDesign using photo edits from Photoshop and vector elements from Illustrator. I made my cover for People magazine with myself as an illustrator as the star.
