We all were given a unique business and specifications and were tasked to make 5 logos, a color scheme, and an advertisement. My business was Green Mountain Adventure and Guide Services, who were looking for a logo that was appealing to both tourists and more serious climbers. That referenced their Vermont routes while also making it clear they did tours outside of Vermont. I did something simple and clean to be professional, reliable, but the orange to show it is still fun and to reference Vermont in its orange color.
For this project, we partnered with The Vermont Network to create graphics that addressed issues of violence, disrespect, mental health, and other challenges that young people face. After a presentation from the local group Mosaic who work to protect victims of sexual violence, we chose and researched topics that could be used by The Vermont Network and their state-wide partners to promote healthy relationships and prevent violent behaviors. Using the organizations’ brand toolkits to guide us, these designs were offered as posters and square social media posts to promote their work, and this will be shared all across the State. I made my designs Consent using an acronym they taught us called "F.R.I.E.S." using fries as characters that could communicate the ideas in a universal way.

This is the design I made at Skills USA Vermont, we were challenged to make a logo and a business card for a real business Advanced Saddle Fit. I wanted to make a logo that felt high class and luxurious. Referencing things like high fashion leather work. I ended up wining Gold in this category.
Our class was hired to design holiday postcards to both be printed and to be displayed for the holiday season in the states capital Montpelier. I designed three, trying to keep things simple and clean. With general winter feelings rather than any specific holiday.
Along with these post cards, we explored After Affects to animate them. Which was certainly an experience, over all I really enjoyed working on these. It was really fun knowing that my work is going to be used to make people happy during the holidays, it made it more real.
We were tasked to make a template using Phil Scott for the schools future Alumni of Distinction wall. I wanted to do something clean and neat, giving a modern look while also being professional. I wanted you to be able to make out and understand it from far away, since they'd be seen from down the hall! Phill Scott did not say this.
For this project we worked with a construction/design company in Stowe called Fiddlers Green who focused on building homes and managing properties in some of Vermont's most beautiful areas. We submitted logo ideas for consideration to represent their Vermont-based construction work and to visualize the mythical Fiddlers Green from folklore of an afterlife where fiddlers played without ever tiring, like the company's work ethic and values! In addition to making logos, we also designed color schemes and mockups of t-shirts for employees featuring logo ideas.
As a design challenge in between clients, we were tasked to make three logos and a mock up for Cappuccino Cultures new canned coffee drink Vermont Sunrise (and a secondary optional flavor Cocoa Immersion). This company was a higher end, eco-conscious canned coffee company based in Vermont. Because of that, I wanted there to be a modern, earthy design that would fit in places like the Co-op or other healthy alternative stores.
Throughout the year we are given access to a vinyl printer, and these are some of the designs that I printed into stickers!
For this project we worked with a Burlington, Vermont-based musician who goes by the name of Nordheiim. Nordheiim produces techno and house music, so our logos worked to represent the vibe of electronic music and also incorporate Nordheiim's love for biking and the outdoors. Check out his music at https://soundcloud.com/nordheiim
For this project, we worked with a dance team based out of Burlington, Vermont. Led by Paula Higa, a professor of dance at University of Vermont, they specialize in deeply meaningful and metaphorical dance pieces to communicate through movement. Paula suggested we make designs with the PHD lettermark and that we could reference Brazil, her native country, in our works. These are some logos and a demonstration social media banner that I submitted to be considered!

We were tasked to make event posters for a local venue. I chose K.K. Slider, a fictional character from the Animal Crossing series. K.K. Slider is an artist that doesn't stick to one genera having every track having a new feel to it. Because of that I wanted to do something simple so that it would work no matter what he was playing, it also works well for cheap and easy printing. I was conflicted on what version to use, the yellow having an iconic look but having the white background has a nice feel of him being exposed by the light. Overall, I do really enjoy this design and it has found a nice place on my wall.
For this project, we made our own snowboard designs with a completely open-ended prompt! We made these as an homage to Jake Carpenter, the Vermont native who founded Burton snowboards and passed away in 2019. Using an official board mockup project file, these original designs are offered as a pitch to Burton for a new board design!
After learning about color theory, this project offered us an open-ended chance to create a design to showcase our own color wheel. I ended up making a digital illustration using fish as a holder for the color. The character in black in white, stunned seeing something so bright for the first time.
This was our first project using InDesign to organize typography. We chose interesting pieces of text and used typography design principles like alignment, justification, and font variations to communicate visually so the type could speak beyond the words. I made my design based on lyrics from The Scary Jokes.
