Law

A Level

Head of Faculty:

Ms Knowles

Law aims to inspire, nurture and develop learners. It will foster their interest and enjoyment in law through developing knowledge and skills for the further study of law, and related subjects, such as business. Learners will develop their knowledge of the law in England, and an awareness of law in a European and global context. The course will enable learners to know and understand the changing nature of law and the interaction between law, morals, justice, society and technology.

5 Top Tips

  1. Be Organised

Students need to come prepared for every lesson: that means having all the right equipment so that learning is maximised. All students must have margined lined paper, must bring a purple pen to every lesson, must bring the notes booklet required and keep their notes organised in folders.

  1. Stay Up-To-Date

It is essential that all home learning is completed by the deadline. Lessons often build upon home learning. This is particularly important when Flipped Learning is set.

  1. Use the Help Given

Students are given lots of guidance and help from their teachers. It is very important for students, once work has been returned, comments are responded to in purple pen.

  1. Practise Key Skills

There are two key skills to practise, practise and practise for success in law. The first it memory skills and the second is building up writing stamina to time.

  1. Use the Resources Available

Apart from the teacher, law students have lots of resources available to them. There is a shared Google Drive, the Google classroom but also a Flipped Law programme and the A Level Law Review magazine.
