Self-awareness is the ability to accurately recognize one's own emotions, thoughts, and values, and how they influence behaviour.
When you are self-aware, you understand that how you see yourself may be different from how others see you. If you are self-aware you can recognize your strengths and your challenges. Self-awareness makes it easier for you to build self-esteem and speak up for what you need.
