Sherman Grange No. 36
This grange promoted cooperative buying. The early meetings were held in various halls in the Sherman area. In 1895, the rented hall burnt and records were destroyed
In 1920 the old Universalist church was purchased for use as a hall.
The grange favored:
1892 – Rural Free Delivery
1896 – Canal Bonds
Improvement of roads
It opposed to the sale of imitation butter/oleo, liquor traffic and saloons open on Sunday
