The employer has a responsibility to develop and implement workplace conflict policies and procedures and to create and manage conflict-resolution programs. This may include such things as step-by-step processes to resolve conflict and facilitated mediation procedures.
As an employee, you should ensure that you are aware of these policies and procedures and that you follow them when the need arises.
In a small group, think of one example where conflict may arise in the entertainment industry. Prepare a 1-minute performance outlining this example. The first time you perform it you will explore a negative apporach to resolution and the second time you perform, you will show the correct way to engage in conflict resolution.
Discussion: How would you have responded to each of these situations? What sort of strategies might you employ in the future?
