ACTIVITY

Select two roles from this list and discuss the main way that they would interact in a large-scale musicial, focusing on the vision within the performance.

As with all departments, the vision department will need to work with various departments to ensure the directorial concept is achieved and that a cohesive performance is maintained. 

Some examples of the interrelationship between departments may include consulting with the director about the directorial concept, working with the ligthing department to ensure that projection choices do not effect the lighting state and vice versa, and linking up with the audio department when sound is required to coincide with the visuals.

In pairs, choose one other department that the vision department would work with during a production and explain how that would work together to achieve a common goal.

Pick three other department involved in the show and describe to the class the ways that they would interact during pre-production through to post-production to ensure the directors vision is achieved.
