Premise: 

The start of 6th grade is a critical time for kids within the STEAM program. We put a lot of emphasis on the engineering design process, expectations of the program, documenting their work and findings, how to use their engineering notebooks, and the tools at their disposal. We have the geology project in their Connections classes as a way of introducing how what they learn connects to their other classes and an opportunity for them to start to be able to create products using different mediums. In addition to the digital flipbooks, students also have access to learn how to build websites, digital models in Tinkercad, and animations using FimoraGo.
