The Central Brussels Scouts were honoured to take part in the Remembrance Day service at the Commowealth War Graves Commission Cemetery in Heverlee on Sunday 9 November along with other British Scouting Overseas scouts and guides.
Remembrance Sunday is marked every year in the U.K. and elsewhere on the closest Sunday to Armistice Day on 11 November. It marks the moment the guns fell silent in Western Europe in 1918 at the end of World War I.
Meanwhile, earlier this week, our Cubs section dedicated their entire regular session to crafting some wonderful Remembrance Day souvenirs.
The Heverlee War Cemetery now contains around 1000 Commonwealth burials of the Second World War, 37 of them unidentified. There are also 29 First World War burials.Â
Lest we Forget.
