CBS at the annual Pinewood Derby race

(15 March 2024)

On 9 March, Central Brussels Scouts took part in the annual Pinewood Derby wooden car race held by our friends at the 1st Brussels Scouts.

Congratulations to everyone who devoted their time and effort to join in for an afternoon filled with fun, excitement and friendly competition!

Pinewood Derby is a fun activity where Scouts design, build and race small, customized wooden cars down a sloped track. The cars are powered only by gravity. Ever since it was devised by Cubmaster Donald Murphy and the first race on 15 May 1953 in Manhattan Beach, California, the Pinewood Derby has become a beloved global phenomenon with perhaps more than 100 million cars built.
