The CBS 2024 Annual General Meeting: a brief summary

(2 February 2024)

On Thursday 8th February, Central Brussels Scouts held its 2024 Annual General Meeting, during which we adopted our new constitution and annual report, elected our trustee board but also celebrated a year of dynamic and diverse activities. This year, the Central Brussels Scouts engaged in a series of events and activities that significantly enriched their programme and community impact.

These included:

Special Events and Community Service: The Scouts participated in Armistice Day celebrations, organised a shoe box collection for Christmas and collaborated with Serve the City, in their community kitchen demonstrating our commitment to community engagement and service.

Educational Excursions and Guest Interactions: CBS Scouts explored various fields through excursions including a trip to the theatre and visits to the European House of History and the Sewer Museum. These experiences broadened our young people’s perspectives and provided valuable learning opportunities.

Camping and Outdoor Activities: The Scouts took part in several camps for different age groups, including District camp and the Autumn Group camp. These camps offered Scouts the chance to engage in outdoor learning, develop survival skills, and build teamwork and leadership qualities.

Skills Development: Throughout the year, the Scouts worked on various badges and activities focusing on skills such as communication, science, space knowledge, disability awareness, global issues, photography, cycling, camp gadget construction, outdoor cooking, pioneering, and teamwork. These activities were designed to foster personal development, creativity, and a sense of responsibility towards global and local community issues.

The Central Brussels Scouts' year was filled with activities that not only provided fun and education but also emphasised the importance of community service, leadership, and personal growth. As they look forward to another year, the organisation continues to seek volunteers to support their sessions with children and administrative tasks, inviting community members to contribute to their mission of "Do more, share more, be more."
