The Student Research Launch Pad project sponsors schemes and events, run by programmes, departments, schools, faculties and associate college partners, which focus on enabling students to share and publish research-informed work.
Sponsorship may be in the form of offering an OBU Student Research Launch Pad prize for the best work, which can further enhance a student's CV, or funding the printing of students' academic posters for a poster exhibition, to reduce cost barriers. Suggestions and requests are welcome.
If possible, please liaise with the Project Lead, Prof Louise Taylor, via studentresearchlaunchpad@brookes.ac.uk, about potential sponsorship as early as possible.
Members of the Student Research Launch Pad team are able to provide workshops on designing academic posters, writing research blogs, and developing coursework into a journal article. Please contact the project lead via studentresearchlaunchpad@brookes.ac.uk, with initial enquiries.
In addition to funding selected OBU students to present work at the annual British Conference for Undergraduate Research, the Student Research Launch Pad offers a limited amount of funding each year to enable UG and PGT students to present at national discipline-based conferences. This is offered on the basis of matched funding with the student's department, and can be applied for by email to studentresearchlaunchpad@brookes.ac.uk as soon as the student has been accepted to present their work at the conference. Funding is not available to support students attending, but not presenting at, conferences.
