Keynote Lecture
'Making your research accessible: a guide to publishing opportunities for students and educators'
Dr Emily Nordmann Senior Lecturer (Teaching focused, Psychology and Education Neuroscience), Glasgow University
Abstract: In this session we will discuss the good, the bad, the ugly, and the inefficient realities of academic publishing and instead offer alternatives to sharing your work. Preprint servers, teaching and learning journals, and undergraduate research specific outlets and events such as Reinvention or WorldCUR-BCUR can maximise impact, boost your CV, and promote open and reproducible research practices for both students and teachers. Emily Nordmann was awarded the British Psychological Society’s Teacher of the Year in 2020 and has written for national publications such as WonkHE and the Times Higher Education.
Location: John Henry Brookes Lecture Theatre, 5pm - 6pm
