Presenting at an Oxford Brookes Business School Conference

Saturday 7th November 2020 saw the 8th Human Resource Management Research Conference hosted on Zoom in conjunction with the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CPID). The event saw 60 staff and students come together to hear about the cutting edge research being conducted by OBBS students on the HRM programmes. The event began with a keynote from Dr. Anne Laure Humbert, who presented her research undertaken in partnership with the Royal College of Nursing, on 'Gender and nursing as a profession: valuing nurses and paying them their worth’. In the questions that followed Anne discussed the challenges and benefits of working collaboratively with the Royal College of Nursing.

The remainder of the morning saw 7 HRM students presenting their research and fielding questions from staff and fellow students. The research showcased a variety of perspectives within which some of the presenters work, ranging from Amey to Virgin Money, and in contexts from family businesses to the NHS. The research also showcased a breadth of different theoretical and methodological perspectives, demonstrating the engagement and achievement of all of those involved. Thank you to all those who participated!

Writing a research-informed blog

Students taking the Exploring International Business and Management module (BMGT4004) create a series of six or more blog posts. The students post independent critical reflections on business news events of their choice on topics relating to their in-class learning experience or your independent study.

Here are two of the OBBS students who have presented their research at Student Research Conferences through this project while studying at Oxford Brookes University.
