Nurturing Nature

· Ko te whenua, mō tātou, ā, mō kā uri ā muri ake nei

(The land, for us and our children after us)

Nau mai, haere mai, Welcome to our Website

We are a year 4 class from Bromley School in Ōtautahi, Christchurch. We have made this website to share all we have learnt and to give you loads of information all about our Koru 6 class learning journey, native plants, native birds and the introduced pests and predators that threaten them.

You can also see how we made our own website and some of the ways you can get involved. Just click on a link below to start your journey.

Tō pitomata, He rua kanapū wehi ana.

Your potential is something to behold, like lightning that lights up the skies.

All of our content is created using Kai Tahu mita (dialect). Cultural responsiveness is authentic when using dialect appropriate for our local context. This is our way of paying respect to Kai Tahu and demonstrates our commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.

We have been so fortunate to have the help and guidance of both Wairāmia, a student of Canterbury University Māori Indigenous Studies and Rachel, a Masters student of Education endorsed in Hōaka Pounamu: Immersion and Bilingual Teaching and a member of our Koru 6 whānau, who have offered their knowledge and expertise of all the te reo Māori used on this site.

Ngā mihi nui ki a kōrua for your contributions to our learning and our website.
