Technical Assistance

The Design Department endeavours to support inquiry and special project across the school.

We love to see students and faculty taking on challenging projects, and we love to be a part of that.

Before starting a project or using materials, always check with the Technician or Head of Design . 

Use of the studios, equipment and materials:

Our priority is serving classes and initiatives directly related to the Design Department and our design curriculum.

Studios

• The use of facilities and resources should be discussed with the Head of Design to make sure classes are not impacted

Equipment and Tools

• Students and faculty must be approved to use equipment and tools. Safety is our priority - You must receive training or a briefing before using our equipment.

Materials

• Materials for non-design department projects may need to be purchased. In most cases we have what you need and you can start making right away--but you need to replace the materials (we don't accept cash or credit cards!)

Design Technician

Our Design Technician's role is to support the design classes, and ensure the studios and equipment are safe and operational. The technician is a key member of our team.

• non-Design Faculty: Requests for assistance from the Design Technician must be approved by the Head of Design. Please send all requests to the Design HOD.

• Students: Respect the Design Technician's time. Their priority is make sure the studio is safe, organized, and operating smoothly. Please see your teacher if you have a problem with using software or completing your design successfully.
