Machines are important to manufacture projects fast and accurately. In Year 10 we cover power tools and basic machines that students will start to use.
Power Tools - Hand Drill, Jig Saw, Biscuit Cutter, Belt Sander,
Machines - Pedestal Drill, Horizontal Drill, Band Saw, Bench Belt Sander, Scroll Saw and Table Saw
The objective of Year 10 wood technology class is to introduce you to the basic power tools and machines that we will use in making projects.
You need to complete the following objectives.
To be able to identify each power tool and machine, to know the proper uses of each and how to use it in a safe manner.
1. Create a google slide covering basic power tools and machines of a carpenters workshop.
2. Slide show will have a cover page, information pages with illustrations and bibliography page at the end.
Research - Look at videos of basic power tools and wood machines and websites to get a comprehensive knowledge of machines commonly used in New Zealand schools.
3. Peer assessment - When you feel the presentation is finished share it with someone for feedback. Make sure you give them "view only" and open the comments function to them.
4. All slideshows will be uploaded to your blog for parents to view.
5. Extension:Produce your own video with Screencastify.(free Google app) and put it on your blog.
