Safety in the workshop
The most important aspect of being in a technology workshop is SAFETY! The rules for the workshop are there to PROTECT anyone in the room. The rules apply to everyone – students, teachers, visitors, etc. When there is a large group of students working within a limited space, EVERYBODY has to be responsible for the way they, personally, follow the safety rules.
Good manners are also expected in order for everyone in the room to be able to work together without conflict. Examples of good manners include:
Saying “please” and “thank you”.
Waiting your turn for the teacher’s assistance. This means waiting quietly and not playing around or interfering with other students and their work.
Asking if a friend would like some help if you see them struggling with a task.
Using appropriate language – no swearing and no dating.
Leave the windows alone.
