Hand Tools
We covered Hand Tools in Year 9 to make sure you will be able to use basic hand tool. This Year we will cover again the basic Hand Tools but with a focus on safety, manufacturing and maintenance of them.
Whāinga - Objectives
One objective of the year 10 wood technology class is to whether your understand the basic hand tools that we use in making wood projects.
You need to complete the following objectives.
To be able to know the proper uses of each hand tool, how to use it in a safe manner, how it was manufactured and how to maintain them.
Mahere Whakamua - Action Plan
Create google slide/google doc and present it to the rest of the class.
(Slide show will have a cover page, information pages with illustrations and bibliography page at the end.)
Where to start: BCATs Hand Tools
Research - Look at videos of basic wood hand tools and websites to get a comprehensive knowledge of Basic Wood Hand Tools commonly used in New Zealand schools. Look into manufacturing processes and maintenance procedures for each type of hand tool. Frame saw / Bow saw (ideas - Hammers(percussion tools), Saws (Shaping tools) and Vice (Clamping tools)
Peer assessment - When you feel the presentation is finished share it with the someone else to give you feedback. Make sure you give them "view only" and open the comments function to them.

Extension:Produce your own video with Screencastify.(free Google app) and put it on your blog.
