To our Lazy Bear Patrons,

After 14 fun-filled years of the West Coast's best summer Bear FUNdraiser, the board of directors (with a big helping hand from many of you) has decided to take a year off. The Gay Games in Cologne, Germany, next year coincide with the normal timing of Lazy Bear Weekend. Lazy Bear has become an international event, and to honor the atheletes who will be participating in the games from all over the world (including my own husband, multi-gold winning athelete Allan Eggman), we have decided to skip a year. The Board and I are very proud of the good work Lazy Bear has done in 14 years, raising over $1,600,000.00 for non-profit community-based organizations such as AIDS Emergency Fund-SF and Sonoma County, Food For though, Positive Resource Center, The Lambert House-Seattle, Under One Roof, MAGNET, Breast Cancer Emergency Fund, The Friends of Sacramento, Camp Laurel in Southern California, SF Track & Field, Marin AIDS Project along with many others programs. We hope that this hiatus will give all the organizers and our amazing group of hard working volunteers (the best in the world) a chance to catch their collective breath, regroup, and come back in 2011 bigger and better than ever. We also hope that you will be there with us.

In the mean time, Castrobear Presents will be assisting the town of Guerneville with a 3-day SPLASH party planned for this coming Summer to help the organizations Food For Thought, AIDS Emergency Fund-Sonoma County, The Senior Center and the local Firehouse. More information will be posted after the start of the new year.

The Board and I would like to thank you for your continuing support. See you in Cologne next year!
