Girls Basketball

Girls Basketball had a very successful season.

The Horizon 8th grade girls basketball teams all had a successful season. Horizon basketball consisted of three teams; A1, A2, and B. This year there was a lot less players then the last few years. The A teams were coached by Mr. Fike, and the B team was coached by Mr. Doppler. All of them looking forward to the end of the season tournament.

I interviewed Payge Kempel, an A1 wing, and asked she thought was the most important part of basketball, and she said"Passion, because to play basketball you have to want to play the sport and you have to have drive to go out and play, and if you aren’t passionate about the sport, then it gets really hard to play." The players all had a hard season preparing to face the other schools on game days and in the tournament.

I also asked Payge who their biggest competitor was and she said "Wachter." Another top competitor for horizon was the Mandan Braves. The basketball season is over now, but it ended successfully. All of the teams put in lots of hard work and effort to achieve their goals, and in the end had a great season.
